- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Oil for frying

- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2-3 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

**For Toppings (optional):**
- Sprinkles
- Chopped nuts
- Shredded coconut

Instructions

1. **Prepare the Dough:**
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed. Do not overmix.

2. **Shape the Donuts:**
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Use a donut cutter or two round cookie cutters to cut out donut shapes.

3. **Fry the Donuts:**
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or a heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place a few donuts in the hot oil, frying for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

4. **Make the Glaze:**
- In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust the thickness as needed.

5. **Glaze the Donuts:**
- Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the chocolate glaze and let excess drip off.
- Add sprinkles or other toppings while the glaze is still wet.

6. **Serve:**
- Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes, then enjoy your homemade donuts!
