Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)

- ¾ cup warm milk
- ¼ cup warm water
- ¼ cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
For topping & filling:
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup whipping cream (cold)
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Sweetened condensed milk or sugar syrup (for brushing)
Instructions:
1. Make the Dough:
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, water, butter, and egg. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes with a stand mixer).
2. First Rise:
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 to 1.5 hours).
3. Shape the Buns:
Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into oval or finger-like rolls. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
4. Second Rise:
Cover and let the shaped buns rise again for about 30–45 minutes.
5. Bake:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the buns for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool completely.
6. Prepare the Cream:
Whip the cold whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
7. Assembly:
Brush the tops of the cooled buns with condensed milk or sugar syrup. Roll or sprinkle them with shredded coconut. Slice the buns partially lengthwise and pipe or spoon whipped cream into the center.
